New shank design improves countersink performance

Our Dormer range of countersinks has been expanded with a new flatted shank design to provide a more positive drive when used in hand held applications.

Flatted shanks prevent the possibility of tools slipping in the chuck, therefore improving the performance of the tool. This also helps produce a better quality countersunk hole.

Our assortment of Dormer countersinks now includes tri-flat shank and hex-shank options.

Manufactured from either High Speed Steel (HSS) or High Speed Cobalt (HSS-E), the range offers increased hardness and toughness, improved cutting edge strength and, ultimately, better tool life.

The tri-flat shank countersink, available with either a bright finish (G106) or TiAlN (G506) coating, has ground flats for a positive location in three-jaw chucks.

Both versions are also available in a six-piece set containing 6.3mm to 20.5 mm diameters.

The hex-shank countersink (G107) has a hexagon shank which fits directly into cordless drill driver attachments for quick use. This is also compatible with hand held drivers for de-burring and chamfering operations.
