Dormer Pramet president Stefan Steenstrup has given an update on the first quarter of 2018.
This includes a summary of which cutting tools are performing strongly and how the metalworking industry is currently doing.
Stefan said: “We are seeing good rates of growth in all markets, especially in Asia and South America. Also, our indexable Pramet brand continues to grow across North America.
“While we remain the market leader for traditional High Speed Steel (HSS) tooling, which is still key to our comprehensive product offer, interest in our solid carbide drills and milling cutters, as well as milling and turning inserts, is increasing.
“We are focusing efforts on improving our overall stock availability. Production of inserts and round tools is significantly higher compared to the first quarter of 2017. March was a particularly good month, with record levels delivered by our production units.
“These preparations will allow us to quickly adapt to growing market demands in the future. Yes, there are always challenges with this, but I am confident we can deliver the results expected of us and support our customers at every opportunity.
“This first quarter has shown that we are seeing growth in all major regions around the world, from the Americas to Europe and Asia. This is an indication that the market is strong in key locations, which is promising for the future, but also that our offer is attracting interest from new and existing customers.”
