World Skills is the biggest competition of vocational education and skills excellence across the globe.
For the first time the event will be in Brazil and this year’s competition is being organized by the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI) - one of the world’s largest organisations for professional education.
It brings together the best young talents from 50 chosen professions, with approximately 1,200 competitors from more than 60 countries taking part.
A total of 200,000 people is estimated to attend the competition at the Anhembi Pavilion, São Paulo, from 11-16 August.
The 43rd World Skills competition will simulate challenges of different professions, where competitors need to show their technical abilities, either individually or in groups, to get all tasks completed according to international quality standards.
Dormer Pramet will support the event as a bronze sponsor, donating a range of Solid Carbide and High Speed Steel round tools to ensure the students have the right equipment to help realise their potential.
Diego Pauer, general manager at Dormer Pramet South America, said: “One of the main objectives of World Skills is to promote the importance of vocational education as a socioeconomic transforming instrument.
“We believe in this objective too, which is why we decided to sponsor the event and contribute to the future of the professional market by building relatonships with vocational schools across the country.”
