Let the material select the milling cutter
2022-03-01

We now offer an expanded selection of solid carbide milling cutters for hardened materials and graphite applications.
The Dormer S599 series is suitable for shoulder milling, contouring and slotting operations, and can be used in die and mold and general engineering.
Designed for materials with a hardness up to 68 HRC, the S599 is available in a variety of cutter lengths, diameters, and radii combinations, for a broad application range to reach deep cavities.
Its four-flute design offers increased metal removal rates, reducing cycle time. While a thermal resistant Titanium Silicon Nitride (TiSiN) coating enables high cutting speeds and increased heat resistance, improving tool life.
Along with new products for hardened steels, we’re also introducing a line of versatile cutters for graphite machining.
The new Dormer SG6 solid carbide tools, greatly expands our offer for abrasive materials, adding seven new cutters for roughing to fine-finishing in shoulder milling, contouring, copy milling and slotting.
Featuring an array of specific corner types, diameters and lengths, the new cutters cover a wide assortment of applications in die and mold milling of electrodes for the EDM process (electrical discharge machining).
A specially designed geometry provides high quality surface finish and process security, while the diamond-like coating offers longer tool life and avoids built-up-edge.
Within the SG6 range includes three cutters with a ball nosed shape design and a micro end mill cutter, for high performance contouring of complex surfaces for graphite machining.
Long or extra-long reach options are available, with deep slots and long neck recesses to avoid contact with the wall of the machined material. The range also features reinforced bodies and specially designed helix angles to reduce vibration.
