We have further expanded our offering of long-grooving and parting tools, inserts and blades.  

The Pramet GL line now includes a range of high-pressure internal coolant capable tools. Adding the GLAF (RL)EXT and GLAF (RL)EXT-S models provides further options for highly productive machining. 

It is the third consecutive year that we have increased our popular GL range for deep parting, since launching it in 2019.  

The new GLAF (RL)EXT holder comes in shank sizes 20x20 mm or 25x25 mm, and can be used for radial grooving or parting-off applications with a depth of cut of up to 40 mm. The GLAF (RL)EXT-S is specially designed with a smaller shank to be used on sliding head machines. Both holders accept a wide variety of blades. 

A reinforced body design on both tools allows for longer use in roughing, semi-finishing and finishing, and in continuous and interrupted cuts. 

By featuring an internal coolant system, delivering pressure up to 140 Bar (2030 PSI), the range can support demanding operations. The coolant is delivered to the top and bottom of the tool to better mitigate temperatures, increasing the durability by 150% compared to external coolant delivery. Also, it allows for shorter chips and improves evacuation, providing greater productivity.  

A new coolant hose set is also offered in several configurations to connect with a wide variety of machines, offering additional versatility.  

Along with the new tools, we have introduced new GL.S inserts. The single-sided PM and PR geometries are designed for deep parting. The PM range has a sharp geometry for use in tubes and with stainless steel, while the PR assortment is especially for interrupted cuts.
