With our two global product brands – Dormer and Pramet – we can boast more than 150 years of specialist cutting tool knowledge and experience. Our huge variety of rotary and indexable tooling means that we can meet virtually all hole-making, turning, milling and threading needs, from one single, simple source.
Employing more than 2,400 people worldwide, we have 21 sales offices, serving more than 100 markets. Our wholly owned and controlled production facilities in Europe, Asia and Americas, and a strategically placed distribution network, means we offer a truly global coverage.

Dormer Tools was established in Sheffield, England, originally as a product brand of The Sheffield Twist Drill & Steel Co. Meanwhile, Pramet Tools was founded in the former Czechoslovakia by starting production of sintered carbide in Sumperk.
Both companies were acquired by Sandvik – one of the world’s leading high technology engineering groups - in the 1990’s. The two businesses came together, along with North American brands Precision Twist Drill and Union Butterfield, to create Dormer Pramet. This culmination of brands provides one single, far-reaching offer covering round tools and indexables.
Our diverse product range has grown further following the acquisitions of Miranda Tools in India. This has allowed us to not only increase our assortment, but grow our extensive knowledge to help solve various engineering challenges across many industry sectors, including general machining, railway, metallurgy, airframe and assembly, die and mold, and maintenance, repair & overhaul.
PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES
We have four wholly owned and controlled production facilities in Brazil, USA, India and the Czech Republic, employing more than 1,500 people. Together, these facilities have more than 200-years of manufacturing experience.
